Entrance Criteria

To apply to the Performing Arts Academy:

1. Complete the online application at www.lafayettechoice.com.
2. Complete a “written composition” to be submitted online with your application.
3. Complete a live interview & audition for placement.

Incoming and current 9 th graders that reside in Lafayette Parish

When is the application deadline?

Applications will open Tuesday, October 04, 2022, at 10:00 am and will close Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 4:30 pm.  Those students who apply within the deadline and meet the requirements will be placed in the lottery.  Applicants will be selected by  random computer drawing for available seats.  Applicants not selected will be placed on a numbered waitlist.

Applications will reopen a week after the lottery, once the lottery priorities have been assigned.  Open enrollment will be on a first come, first serve basis after all waiting list priorities have been assigned.  Phase II applicants must meet all requirements to be accepted into a Magnet Academy.
